The most popular use of LED strips in the furniture industry is the kitchen lighting. A large proportion of our customers are using linear lighting profiles and LED strips, as it is eye-catching and gives evenly diffused light.
This article will show you where to mount Kitchen LED aluminium profiles to get the best end result for your need. The purpose of under cupboards lighting is to lighten up the worktop, so important is to choose the right profile and mount it in the right place. Of course, the LED strip is also very important too, but this where we fixed the aluminium profile will have an impact on how and where it will be diffused the light.
Installation of LED aluminium profiles is described in details in a few simple steps in this article.
To illuminate the kitchen we recommend two types of profiles:
- Surface aluminium profile Line Mini
- Corner aluminium profile Tri-Line Mini
These are the two most common profiles characterised by easy installation and modern design and available in 3 colours (silver, black and white)
Line Mini Profile: best mounted in the middle of the lower rim of the kitchen cabinets. In this way, we use the maximum scattering angle of the LED strip (120 degrees) and obtain optimal lighting for the worktop. This allows the greatest amount of light to be focused precisely on the counter.
If you mount this profile against the wall, then you are going to waste up to half of the light. Of course, with this type of installation, the light will be nicely stood out on eg. tiles or other decorative wall elements, but the worktop will be darker. This situation presents the picture below.
The Tri-Line Mini is a corner profile, which assembles at the end of the bottom panel to the wall. It is designed to emit as much light as possible on the central part of the worktop. This is a very good solution for lighting the kitchen. In this case, you should use a milky cover to hide the diodes. Milky cover better diffuses the light and blurs the dark spots of a LED strip on the surface of the lens.
