Choose right LED power supply
Choose the right LED power supply
What is an LED power supply? How does it work?
A properly selected LED power supply is the base for the proper functioning of the LED lighting system. All LED strips and LED power supplies offered by Future House Store work at a constant voltage of 12V. To select the appropriate transformer you must first determine what is the power of light source (eg. LED strip) that you want to use.
Choose the right LED power supply
Correct kit composer (power supply + LED strip) in the table below:
POWER OF LED STRIPS / POWER OF LED POWER SUPPLY | 300 LED 3528 (4,8W / m) | 600 LED 3528 (9,6W / m) | 300 LED 5050 (14,4W / m) | 150 LED RGB (7.2W / m) | 300 LED RGB (14,4W / m) |
20W 12V DC | 3.8 m | 1.9 m | 1.2 m | 2.5 m | 1.2 m |
35W 12V DC | 6.6 m | 3.3 m | 2.2 m | 4.4 m | 2.2 m |
60W 12V DC | 11.3 m | 5.6 m | 3.8 m | 7.6 m | 3.8 m |
80W 12V DC | 15.1 m | 7.5 m | 5.1 m | 10.1 m | 5.1 m |
100W 12V DC | 18.8 m | 9.4 m | 6.3 m | 12.6 m | 6.3 m |
150W 12V DC | 28.3 m | 14.1 m | 9.4 m | 18.9 m | 9.4 m |
200W 12V DC | 37.8 m | 18.9 m | 12.6 m | 25.3 m | 12.6 m |
PLEASE NOTE! Running an LED strip driver at 100% capacity could possibly reduce its life, compared to running at around 90%. Many transformer manufacturers actually recommend running at no more than 80% of the transformer's capacity. Others recommend a slightly higher level, so the transformer is run efficiently at close to its maximum wattage.
